Frequently asked

How do I play?

The emitters are always firing. Drag reflectors, splitters, and filters from the tray onto the grid to route the beams: bend one around a corner, fan it through a splitter, or cross two beams to mix their color. When every target is lit with the exact color it asks for, the experiment is solved.

How does color mixing work?

The primaries are red, blue, and yellow. Crossing two beams of different colors combines them: red + blue = purple, red + yellow = orange, blue + yellow = green, and all three together = white. Targets need an exact match, so a stray color will break it. There's a color-mix legend right below the tray for reference.

I'm stuck on a level.

Most puzzles hinge on one key trick, so look for it before placing pieces. Tap a reflector to flip its orientation; rotating is free. Watch the live beams as you place a piece, and remember that crossings can make a color no emitter provides. There are no timers, so take your time.

My progress disappeared.

Progress is saved on your device. Restoring a new device from an iCloud backup should bring your progress with it. If it doesn't, email us with the Apple ID email you used on the original device.

Can I turn the music or sound off?

Yes. Open Settings inside the game and toggle music or sound effects off. The silent switch on your device also silences the game, and your own device music keeps playing if you have it on.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

Lumen's Lab has no ads and no accounts. The first 100 levels are free; a single one-time purchase unlocks the rest (levels 101–200), and you can restore that purchase from Settings on a new device.

Is Lumen's Lab available on iPad or Android?

Lumen's Lab is designed for iPhone. It may run on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, but it's built for the iPhone screen. We don't have an Android version planned.

I have a suggestion for a mechanic or a level.

We'd love to hear it. Send us an email and describe it in a sentence or two. We read every suggestion even if we can't reply to each one.
